1. Who we are
This policy explains how [business legal name] (“Easy Prep with Heather,” “we”) collects and uses your information when you use our website and service. We're a small local business, we collect only what we need to cook for you, and we never sell your information.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash, never readable by us).
- Home and visit details: your address, preferred prep day and time, and any access notes you give us, such as gate or door codes, parking and pets.
- Food preferences and health-related information: household size, likes and dislikes, eating style, and allergies and intolerances. We use this only to plan and prepare your meals safely.
- Your activity: menus, swap requests, meal ratings, notes and reviews you send us.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Your full card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our systems. We see only basic details such as card type, last four digits and payment history.
- Technical information: standard server logs (like IP address and browser type) used to keep the site secure and working.
3. How we use it
- To plan your menus, shop for and prepare your meals, and schedule and carry out prep visits.
- To keep you safe, by checking menus against your allergies and dietary needs.
- To bill you, send receipts and manage your plan.
- To talk with you about your service, including menu updates and scheduling.
- To improve our recipes and service, for example using your ratings to plan future menus.
- To publish reviews, only when you've given permission and only under the name you chose.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and to protect our rights.
4. Allergy and dietary information
Allergies, intolerances and dietary needs are sensitive health information. By giving them to us, you consent to us using them for one purpose only: planning and preparing your meals safely. We don't use this information for marketing, we don't sell it, and we don't share it with anyone except the providers who host our website and database. You can update or delete it in My tastes at any time, though we can't plan safe menus without it.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except billing records, which we keep as long as tax and accounting rules require (generally up to 7 years). Access codes are deleted as soon as you remove them or close your account.
8. Keeping it safe
Passwords are hashed, the site uses encrypted connections, and only Heather can see your home access notes and private details. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
You can view and update most of your information in your account at any time. You can also ask us to:
- Send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your account and personal information, subject to the record keeping noted above.
- Remove a review you left from our website.
- Stop sending non-essential emails (we'll still send messages about your service and billing).
Email hello@easyprepwithheather.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we'll honor them. We won't treat you differently for using them.
10. Children
Our service is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. The only information about children we hold is what a parent chooses to tell us to plan meals, such as how many kids are in the household and any allergies.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll update the date above and let you know by email or in your account before they take effect.
